David McGriff has experience representing studios, networks, financial institutions, equity investors, distributors, sales agents, producers, and writers. David has specific expertise in establishing film funds and structuring complex financial transactions involving entertainment assets. Mr. McGriff also has experience representing employees in employment-related disputes with their employers.
Prior to forming Hilaire McGriff PC, Mr. McGriff was an attorney in the entertainment department with two New York-based national firms. Mr. McGriff has represented either the financier or production company on the financing of many films, including “The Grey,” “Woman in Black,” “The Big Wedding,” “Side Effects,” “The Iceman,” “The Paperboy,” and “Snitch.” Mr. McGriff also negotiated the intellectual property and life-story rights for the box office hit “The Conjuring” and the spin-off film “Annabelle.”
